British Taylor Swift fans battle huge hotel prices for Eras Tour | Music | Entertainment

Taylor Swift is just a matter of weeks away from finally hitting the UK with her highly anticipated Eras Tour.

The American singer first announced the British leg of her world tour last summer, and the time has finally come for Swifties to put on their friendship bracelets and begin queueing up for her stadium shows.

But, once all of the music is over, fans will no doubt need to check into hotels and accommodation. And it is no secret that the competition is going to be fierce when it comes to booking rooms at the cities Taylor Swift will be playing in this year.

Unfortunately for many Brits, some of the biggest locations will be the most difficult to secure hotels.

In a new report from SearchBloom, Edinburgh on June 7 (Taylor’s first show in the UK) has been branded as the hardest place to stay in, with prices coming in well over £500 per night.

By analysing the amount of rooms in the city, availability and average cost, Edinburgh came out as the worst option with costs of £686.67 per night. And with three two nights of The Eras Tour taking place at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium, prices will likely remain the same.

The next city on the list is London, where Taylor Swift will be playing multiple dates at Wembley Stadium.

The report claims the average night around the legendary stadium will cost around £248.33 – substantially lower than Edinburgh’s prices.

Searchbloom’s CEO Cody Jensen said of the information: “With Taylor Swift’s UK leg of The Eras Tour fast approaching, the time has come for fans to start getting the logistics of travel and accommodation ironed out – especially as it’s likely many will be travelling far from home due to her only visiting four cities. For many, the main priority will be cost. It’s an expensive tour to buy tickets, merchandise and an outfit for, so fans will be looking to save money where they can. This provides ample opportunity for Airbnb and hotel owners to now lower their nightly rates to take advantage of the highly anticipated tour dates.

“There are some ways that fans can lower the cost of their tour stop beyond booking as far in advance as possible. This includes using price comparison websites, opting for less central locations, considering alternative accommodations like hostels, or extending your stay to take advantage of multi-night discounts.”
